Wifi Channel Change is locked out, need a change

Is the ability to select WIFI channels in the gateway a function of which service plan is purchased?

If I take my Gateway to a Xfinity service location, can they set it to desired channels for me (Channel 9 for 2.4GHz, Channel 60 for 5 GHz)?

Hello, how are you doing today @user_h9qnz7? On modems that are models XB6 or higher, these settings are managed automatically. The Wi-Fi Channels mode will be locked out. This is not something we can change on our end or at a store. Are you able to share why you need these specific channels enabled? xFi software will default to the most optimal setting possible.

In my case, there are several wifi networks around my house, all utilizing the same channels for both the 2.4 and 5ghz networks.  I'm guessing they are all from Xfinity, since they removed the ability to change channels manually.  If they were truly "managed" automatically, they wouldn't all be set to the same channels.
