Xb10 availability

I talked to Xfinity online and they told me that the Xfinity store would either have the xbo10 modem or would be able to order it for me. When I get to the Xfinity store, they tell me I can’t get xb10 because my neighborhood needs to be upgraded to the same upload/download speeds. Is this true? I’ve never dealt with a company with as much miscommunication as Xfinity. The Xfinity people that you talk to online don’t know the same information as the ones that work in the store. Not sure how this company stays in business. I’ve been trying to get an xb10 for over a year. Supposedly it’s finally out. But very hard to get. Anyone know how to get one? I have the fastest plan available. And was told that’s what you need.

Yeah, I have the same thing. Xfinity makes things so hard. Rather than make us happy, we are always at their mercy.

Soon ATT will have fiber on my block, much faster and easier to deal with than cable.

@Eazydeazy

From what I've seen, the official employees posting here recently, they are saying that you need to be subscribed to one of their X-Class symmetrical speed tiers in order to be eligible for an XB10 gateway.

I am sincerely sorry for the miscommunication and the runaround you’ve experienced. It is incredibly frustrating to be told one thing online, only to have a different experience when you take the time to visit a store in person @Eazydeazy.

@EG is correct! To clear up the confusion regarding the XB10 Gateway currently, the XB10 is reserved exclusively for customers on our X-Class symmetrical speed tiers (where upload and download speeds are equal, such as 1 Gbps up / 1 Gbps down).

Hey I'm on there 2gig service I have a 10gig nic card they sent me a xb8 which apparently has inherent compatibility problems with actually going over 1 gig. Not to go total geek but basically it forced nic to negotiate to 1gig until it gets a full cold reboot every time I try to actually use it for any real purpose like downloading massive files. I talked to support they promised me an xb10 and I would have it in 2 days that didn't happen so I got ahold of them again someone new said I was misled and they had 1 at the store for me I just needed to go pick it up. Guess what nope they didn't have one either and was told by the store employees that only business plans could get them. So basically, lied to twice and one cost me time and gas going to a store just to have them tell me that nobody ever called them to verify they had one and that I wouldn't be getting one until probably next year. Unlucky for them fiber will be here by then and I'll be moving on to bigger and better things. So good job for losing more customers xfinity over lying you should get sued. You offered multi gig service with a modem that you knew from the get go couldn't hack the speed increase but you sold it anyway.
