xb7 vs xb8
Hello, Just signed up for the 1.2G/40M plan. During the order process I was told I would be getting an XB8. Because the installation required a tech contractor to come to my home, the gateway would be brought then. To my disappointment, the installer only had XB7, and not only that, he insisted it was better than the XB8 for reliability. As I didn't want to delay the installation further, I accepted the situation, although it does not sit well with me that I have had to deal with the situation of having to swap gateways.
Should I leave things as they are, or pursue the XB8, or wait for the XB10 and see if will be offered? And yes, I do have WiFi 6E devices here.

Good afternoon @gr8sho and happy Monday, thank you for reaching out to our dedicated Communities team on our Forums, we appreciate it. How is your Monday going so far? I hope all is well! I see you recently signed up for our 1.2GB/40Mbps plan, we hope you are enjoying your new speeds! Additionally, I see that you stated that you wanted the XB8 but the XB7 was brought by the technician during installation, we are sorry if that was disappointing as that is never how we want our customers to feel but assure you that our XB7 is capable of handling your speeds. How are your speeds currently performing with your XB7?
If you'd like to swap out your XB7 for an XB8, you can do so by dropping by one of our wonderful retail locations, Please visit https://www.xfinity.com/local/store-offers to find your nearest location along with the associated store hours. Or, we can ship a new gateway directly to your home. If you'd like the XB8, please let us know which option would be most convenient for you.
If your speeds and connection are working well though, it might be easiest to leave things as is for now. We do have our new XB10 coming later this year but we do not have a release date at this time. Once it is released to the public though, we would be happy to try to assist with upgrading your gateway at that time.
