Xfi modem in bridge mode and storm ready wifi

jsgjm Hi there! Good question! When your Xfinity modem is in bridge mode, it disables all routing and WiFi functions, essentially turning it into a simple internet gateway. Since Storm-Ready WiFi relies on an active Xfinity Gateway's WiFi network, it won’t function properly in bridge mode.

 

If you want to use Storm-Ready WiFi, your gateway needs to stay in normal (router) mode because the backup system is designed to work seamlessly with Xfinity's built-in WiFi.

 

A workaround would be switching your gateway back to router mode, but if you prefer using your own router, Storm-Ready WiFi might not be compatible in this setup.
