xfi pods won’t connect to iPhone 16 pro max since I got the xb8 gateway

My xfi pods worked fine when I had the xb7 gateway. When I moved to the bedroom, right by the pod, the phone automatically moved to the pod, and worked great.
that all stopped when I was “upgraded “ to the XB8. My iphones will connect to the gateway, and won’t let go. If I stand right next to the pod, and toggle the WiFi off, and then try to reconnect, it says it is unable to connect to the network.
resetting everything (phone, gateway, pods) does nothing.
If I forget the network, and manually log back in while standing by the pod, it will connect with the network via the pod, until I walk to the other side of the house. Then the phone connects with the gateway, and won’t let go.
I have seen other posts with this concern, and no resolve. It seems like iPhones have the difficulty. Must not have been enough testing.
At this point, I regret upgrading.
Looking for a resolution here. I pay a premium price for limited services.
Anyone else have any luck fixing this? Again, please don’t respond with turn the phone off and back on. I have turned everything off and back on.
Thank you

You might be experiencing the same thing I am. BUT, need to ensure it’s not another issue I discovered, before knowing for certain.

With this new XB8, a setting could have changed all on its own, annoyingly. In the Xfinity app, tap the WiFi tab at the bottom, then tap “WiFi details” and then “Edit WiFi settings” and you’ll see “Security mode” with a drop down menu. Ensure that this is set to “WPA3-Personal-Transition” there.

Once that’s verified, let me know.

It was set at WPA2. I just changed it to WPA3- Personal-Transition.

After changing to that setting, the phone was able to connect to the pod. This appears to have rectified the issue. I saw a number of other threads with this issue and no resolve. I’ll keep an eye on it and post if issues arise again.

Did you have to do anything else? Anything I should keep my eyes open for?

Thank You! 🙏

@user_4fcxwa Awesome! Glad it worked for you.

I’d recommend completely forgetting your WiFi network from your iPhone, then add it fresh. Just in case there are any lingering issues. That’s up to you though.
