Zoom poor internet connectivity problem

Fine Print:  Neither a Xfinity Tech Support Am I, Nor a Xfinity Xcutive Am I, But a Xfinity user Am I, Satisfied with the product, service and support Am I

As a lot of users have reported, after upgrading to the latest router and fastest plan, Zoom kept dropping with poor internet connectivity problem.  It was most visible when using via VPN when it would freeze for a few seconds.  Bandwidth tests revealed d/l speeds of about 50-150 mbps to the laptop.

The solution which worked for me:  In Xfinity Mobile App -> Tap on Wifi icon -> Tap on Wifi details -> Tap on Edit Wifi Settings

For my setting, the 6 Ghz band had a different password (don't know how it got there, not one of my default passwords used by me).  I switched it to the same as the other two Ghz bands (all 3 bands same password) and Zoom had no more dropped calls.  D/L speeds went up to the plan limit.  Check that all 3 of your bands have the same password.  After making the change, Wifi Settings showed Split Bands to be off.

I am guessing that when the split bands is off (or maybe 1 of the 3 bands is different), Xfinity is still trying to find the most stable connection and failing which is causing the zoom problem.

Morale of the story:  If Xfinity wants to immprove testing, hire more QA. I am available! And looking for a job, Feel free to email me if interested!

i'm having that same issue - upgraded to the top internet and zoom is having glitches. i went to the edit wifi settings, but couldn't find much to change. it had "wifi name", "wifi password", "security mode" - which only lets me select "WPA2", and "broadcast wifi name".  Any suggestions on what I should try?

@user_d9pko2 I'm sorry to hear you're having issue while using zoom. This is not the experience we want from you after an upgrade. I would like to troubleshoot with you to resolve your concerns. Are you using  VPN, splitter, separate router, amplifier, Wi-Fi extenders etc with your connection?
