remove attachments from email

This is an enhancement request.

I would like to be able to remove attachments that I have downloaded from emails and save the email without the attachment using the browser based email functionality.

This would save space but leave the email. Right now the only awkward way to do this is forward the email to myself without the attachment, and delete the original email. This screws up the date stamping of the email in question.

Thanks

Would someone at xfinity please FIX THIS ASAP!!!!!!  This is absolutely stupid that we cannot do as user_de57db has requested above.  We used to be able to do this in comcast email but not any more.  And in many cases it is necessary to maintain the date and time stamp history of who sent what to us and we can't do that if the only way to get rid of the attachments is for forward it to ourselves and delete them before we send the message to ourselves!  totally insane for what we are all paying to comcast for this service!  My email is just about out of storage space for this very reason.  I'm about to have to go in lose all of this history because I can't just delete the attachments alone.  PLEASE DO SOMETHING LIKE NOW!!!!!

Yes, agreed!  Found this thread by Googling how to remove attachments since I'm about to run out of space. I *NEED* to maintain the original messages with date/time

Why not use a third party app like Outlook or Thunderbird to download your messages?
